I feel for Perrin’s aPennyShaved site, it was kinda OUR site! We saw it from beginning to now. It’s unfortunate that this happened, however, we cannot be surprised and you mentioned that in many articles Spence – there is always risk in trying gimmicks to game Google.
Currently I get over 125,000 monthly Google search visits that generates about $6K/month from display ads and affiliate commissions. The revenue side is slowly growing from affiliate commissions each month. While it’s growing slowly, the long term looks good. I do long-tail keyword research which is uncovering some great commercial long tail keywords that will generate decent revenue. Also, display ads perform well too.
William May 17, 2015 at 10:36 pm The content here is superb, I’ve paid for information that was less helpful. I’m just wondering about the purpose of turning off rss feeds. Could you elaborate? Reply
People, what you talking about … Public PBN`s may get penalized but if you make your own private PBN wisely you will have very low chances to get hit. Don`t use any Google toolz if you do any SEO ,it`s stupid to put the websites into GWT when you do any SEO job on them, think about that. Just stay away from Google tools, gmail etc. and build your own PBN`s they work for me since years. Nothing has changed.
Is this a PBN and will Google de-index the 4 subsidiary sites? Done well, it would be very difficult to spot. After all, there are legitimate reasons for using WhoIs privacy (fear of cyberstalking and/or cyberbullying for example).
You want all of the links to be on the homepage. Most people link to the homepage of a website, so it is where all the link juice and power is, which we will be passing on to our money sites.
Louie September 23, 2014 Spencer and Perrin I’m looking forward to you guys not using PBN’s anymore. I was disappointed when that was one of the steps in building out apennyshaved. I think the blog and podcast will be even more interesting now. At least for me now that I can fully relate. good luck. Spencer Haws September 23, 2014 Thanks Louie!
No, when it comes to scraping domains yourself, instead of searching for old blog pages, what about entering old directories websites on Xenu .. there is more links there Thanks
“I’ve been working with Nemanja and PBN Fox for almost 6 months now. His team is not only responsive and affordable, but their work is incredible! Give them a standard you want, ask for a quote – say yes… be happy. Thanks buddy” Colby WrenInternet Marketer, Niche Nectar“Just got my first site from Nemanja (notice how I said first but only ordered one – yep, I’ll be ordering more!) and it has blown me away. It looks better than any site I have ever created. Nemanja has kept me updated from start to finish. I ordered it on the weekend and it has been done already. I’ve ordered link packages from people that take weeks to be done, yet he can create full sites that looks this good in a matter of days?! Awesome! Article supplied and everything else on the site is of the highest quality. Genuinely blown away.

Spencer Haws September 23, 2014 You could be right, but honestly I’m not as interested in “why” things were penalized…I just know it was related to PBNs…I’m moving on. In addition, we are having huge success with our outreach. In addition to the HuffPost link, we’ve gotten lots of really high authority links. I will most definitely dig into our authority site more…will likely become a primary focus of my blog updates going forward.
Joe March 15, 2017 at 4:31 pm Hi, Great article! thank you. I have got a question. What about if I do have several sub projects hosted on the same host and domains registered in the same place. Is it possible to spread those projects and build some kind of PBN at this time from those projects/domains or it is too late ? …. regards, Joe Reply
Yes, we are leaving a footprint here, which is we use CloudFlare CDN for all sites on our blog network, but these guys host over 1.5 million websites, it’s not a pattern that is going to expose our network or raise any red flags.
Olayinka September 23, 2014 Deindex of PBN is long over due for me, because i know that Google did not love strategies like this. I even hate of link building of ranking for Google first page because the company is trusted to work with..
Note: Unlike Google Analytics, Clicky Analytics provides non-contiguous unique identifiers for each site, that can’t be tied back into your main account. They actually have a great simple interface, and are much easier to use than GA, so my advice would be to sign up and start using them instead of giving Google your data.
Khaila Shaza February 20, 2017 at 4:18 am Wow this is what I need the most! I just learn about PBN a couple days ago, then looking for some information on Google, than I found this site, really give a lot of enlightment. Right now I’m trying to start build my own PBN, maybe I will follow your advise above, to build PBN using money from client, hope I can succeed. Thank you so much Daryl. Reply
Daryl Rosser September 10, 2015 at 8:51 am Hi Alex, 1. Not 8 OBL, link to max 8 sites. I do 1-2 links per site. Then also link out to a few authority / niche relevant sites. 2. You can, but the most power is almost always on the homepage. So you would rather the links there. 3. You can, but it’s a lot more work. For #2 and #3 the problem would be the linking footprints. The more of your sites you link to, the more crossover there is. So you have 150 sites, and they’re all linked to from the exact same 30 PBN sites as an example, very clear footprint. Basically, don’t try to cheap out. This works great, is safe, and is cheap as is. The margins are so great in this stuff, you don’t need to waste time trying to save money at the risk of more footprints. Reply

Financial Samurai September 24, 2014 Cool. Will check out. I’ve followed the authority site model with Financial Samurai. So far, things are fine and it hasn’t been hit by anything yet. I also don’t do any link building. But, I’m waiting for that one day when the hammer drops. So, I’ve decided to start a podcast too. Sam

Miklas Kroager August 27, 2016 at 11:17 pm Hey Daryl, I’m one of your new readers on this forum – currently CEO in danish digital agency, Memoo. I know it’s a little off-topic, but when are you accepting new member stop the Facebook group? Looking forward to join the community. Cheers, Miklas Reply
Hammerhead Domains offers a Pro membership for $19/month that gets you access to a lot more domains each day, including DA20+ domains. A big perk of the Pro membership is that from the day you subscribe any domains which aren’t registered on the day they’re released, get added to your Vault, and after a while you’ll build up thousands of domains in your Vault.
Hey, Doug, Years ago, I, too, used to be a PMI member, but I always used other PMI consultants on projects with clients as I was more of a rainmaker than a project doer–if that makes any sense. Wow, I must have typed my e-mail in your site five times–at every opportunity. I’ll sort out the duplicates later. I was just trying to find a way to contact you personally. Anyway, here’s the nub of my question (speaking as a non-techie): At this stage in my life I have an online area business publication covering a four state footprint along I-81. I wanted to take a ‘rolling launch’ up to two years to get it functioning (depending on my tech help along the way–maybe the wrong help). I’m really interested in developing my concept of Local Lead Circles (incestuous lead-gen for local non-competitive, same-market businesses) through a multiple PBN service to local businesses. Now I ‘think’ that a PBN would be a perfect platform for manifesting my Local Lead Circles concept locally. And I saw your friend Jon’s offer of the hands-off five site gig and I think I could sell that duck with a little hand-holding from you and Jon. I would like to flesh out my Local Lead Circles concept with you and see what we could do to earn some money with Jon’s 5-site offer and your input. Your thoughts? (Write to my e-mail address if you prefer.)
Wow! That’s quite a hit both of you guys took. I’m glad that you did share this news, bad as it may be, because I think that many others who were on the fence about PBN;s can now wake up and smell the SEO coffee.
Well, as well as doing this, you can also completely copy the contents of the previous website . You can do this by completely copying the website, which can be outsourced for a measly $5. Or you can simply copy and paste the content into your blog.
I therefor understand completely what Spencer is saying. Yes, you can make money whit SEO techniques that are in the grey area. But if you would like to sleep decent and have the peace of mind that your income is build on something solid, than it might be wise not to rely on techniques like PBNs.
That’s awesome, glad to hear. There are so many crawling/scraping tools out there now. PBN’s have been hyped for years. I feel they’ll be around much longer. Google may try to crack down on specific strategies of doing it, but ultimately, we’re getting links from authoritative sites, and that’s what their algorithm wants. They may try to crack down on things like by removing juice on a domain if it expires, but people have been worried about that for a long time. As of this moment, it’s working as well as ever, so go full charge ahead!
Hey Gotch, quick question. I do have some PBN links to my site, unfortunately they were in my “newer” years of SEO link building. They are from a service, but they are ranking my keywords quite well. Unfortunately, backlink crawlers are still able to see the links, and they are wide open to competitors. The pages themselves also have a ton of weird and irrelevant posts, so they would never pass a manual review. But regardless, I was wondering what would happen in case they did happen to get slapped or de-indexed. Would my site also get a penalty? Or would rankings simply go down a little because the PBN is no longer indexed/or penalized? The money site also has a lot of natural, high quality links too, so I am curious about your thoughts. Cheers
